Soroptimist International is a worldwide volunteer service organization for business and professional women, working to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. Almost 95,000 Soroptimists in about 120 countries and territories contribute time and financial support to community-based and international projects that benefit women and girls. SI Vista was chartered on March 23, 1953 and has approximately 40 active members. We are part of the Desert Coast Region, Soroptimist International of the Americas.

Operation HOPE North County
(Homeless Outreach Providing Encouragement) evolved out of a need identified by the City of Vista in 2003. The City reached out to members of the faith community to come discuss providing shelter for homeless families with children. The Shelter is maintained as a collaborative effort of the Cities of Vista and San Marcos and other government agencies, social service agencies, faith communities, foundation and corporate support, organizations and individual volunteers. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 57-1214920) and an active member of the Alliance for Regional Solutions. This is a year-round operation in order to meet the needs of our communities. Throughout the season, we operate at maximum capacity. Families represent an ever increasing sector of the homeless population |
